I have found that the exits from the customizers all use a redirect now.  The 
redirect is being sent, but there's some sort of confusion in there, and the 
body seems to also be generated (I see logs of portlets being rendered), but 
the response is never terminated.  The response is left open.  I can see this 
with a program that can make and monitor HTTP requests, such as the java 
ProtocolExplorer.

IE 6 gets messed up with this, and never does the redirect.

Netscape 6 ignores the still open response body and does the redirect ok.

I think we should fix this, and not leave the request open and processing as 
it appears to be.

Perhaps Chris was using Netscape when he found it works ok for him...
