For future reference you should be more specific about what the issue is. Is it because it
is not a common way in the Lucene.NET project?  In that case, I fail to see why it would automatically
exclude the patch from being applied (it is subject to review)

Or, is it a matter of violating the Apache license (referenced at:

If it violates the license (which I can't see that it does from what I read), then I am happy
to not include it in the future.  However, if it doesn't, then the question reverts to the
first point about it being uncommon (and therefore not immediately excludable on those grounds).
