Hi Mardan,

log4j is on the path of flume's conf Dir? 
And java is exported within your shell? I don't know how cygwin will handle such global environment
exports. After you've build flume on windows you don't need to start them in a cygwin environment.
It could be, when you import the hadoop classes as well, that you can use the hdfs uri scheme
(hdfs://namenode:port) to connect directly.

Please note, the windows port is in work, I've only tested syslog and avro so far. Next step
will be to integrate hadoop natively.
