Subject [jira] [Commented] (SIS-177) Translate the developer guide to English
Date Wed, 13 Aug 2014 09:37:11 GMT

Martin Desruisseaux commented on SIS-177:

Thanks again for all this work! There is my suggestions:

* Line 191: the intend was to said something like "This database is offered by petroleum companies
that have an interest to ensure that their exploration is performed at the right place, given
that the companies don't always control the production of the maps they use”.
* Line 194: cool, thanks!
* Line 292: the intend was something like "Attempts to support object-oriented paradigm result
in verbose approach in some language."
* Line 491-493: yes, the translation sound good.
* Line 531-532: maybe something like "... while leaving the remaining features as extension
points for future developments."?
* Line 596: yes, I think that "verbose" is appropriate here.
* Line 670: the translation sound good.
* Line 686-687: yes, "property files" are the words used in Java.
* Line 697: maybe replacing "obligation level" by "obligation (i.e. whether the element is
mandatory or optional)" would help?
* Line 698: yes, I have seen "code snippet" used in similar context.
* Line 723: "introspection methods" is correct, but the Java language tends to said "reflection
methods" instead.
* Line 724: the translation sound good. The names that we mean are the UML identifiers. We
could replace "names" by "UML identifiers".
* Line 925: the translation sound good.
* Line 1166, 1177: "the running JVM" or "the currently running JVM" was the intend.

. However the guide has been written in French, in part because based on existing material
(e.g. some chapters written during thesis). This task is about translating the guide to English.
