Subject [jira] Commented: (JS2-395) DB Page Manager
Date Fri, 18 Nov 2005 02:59:42 GMT

Randy Watler commented on JS2-395:

- J2 attempted to use the OJB cache in the past, but the effort failed. In the judgement of
the J2 dev team that experienced this pain first hand, it is not something that we should
attempt again. Instead, components have implemented their own application level caching. There
has been discussion surrounding the implementation of a distributed cache component that would
be used by other components to facilitate unified cache control and notification.

- This task also must include a relaxed schema definition for MSSQL that does not support
circular or self referential cascading deletes. The final schema must be developed without
regard for these limitations in MSSQL, but the DB PageManager must still cascade the deletes
using OJB directives so that a relaxed schema will still function properly.
