Subject [jira] Commented: (JS2-395) DB Page Manager
Date Sun, 06 Nov 2005 23:43:19 GMT

Randy Watler commented on JS2-395:

There may very well be a relationship, but it is not quantified at the moment.

When the OJB DB PageManager implementation is in place, it is likely that it will become the
working run-time PSML implementation. Afterwords, the relationship between Castor XML, Graffito,
and the DB implementation will be assessed. I believe that the Castor and Graffito PageManager
implementations may well become read-only and serve primarily as PSML import plugin components.

Another related topic is the packaging of PSML documents in WAR files. A deployment mechanism
related to the proposed inter-PageManager import implementation has been discussed.

In general, these musings have been very nacent and have not made their way to the list in
any organized manner. Having a DB PageManager capability in place has been considered the
first step before any significant progress can be made on JS2-350 or PSML deployment, so all
of this will probably be post-2.0-FINAL: i.e. on the "back burner".
