Subject Re: [jira] Commented: (LUCENENET-377) Upgrade solution to VS2010

@Peter M-- no, the current implementation would not work with VS
express. Main issue there, which I'm not sure we want to work around,
is solution folders are not supported. Now, I strongly suspect it will
work in monodevelop -- its downloading on this mac as I write. In
general, I don't think it would be impossible to make the project
monodevelop-friendly, and that path makes a bit more sense as it is
not hamstrung like the express skus while also being cross-platform.

@Paul H -- you hit the nail on the head. Why not make it easier
especially as it does not cost the project anything. Its 2010 --
source controlled cloud space is cheap if not free. In addition, I
think it is a perversion of source control to setup a project where
the maintainers needed to do things locally that are not in the source
to build/use the project. Its the be-all, end all and if you can't
download from svn and roll within 5 minutes, you are doing it wrong.

Finally -- I really did this for myself as I didn't want to use
VS2005. I figured I would be nice enough to submit it back so others
could use it. Isn't that the point of Open Source?
