Subject Lucene.Net 1.9.1 "beta" is released
Date Fri, 14 Jul 2006 02:00:38 GMT
Hi Folks,

I just released build 001 of Lucene.Net 1.9.1. I am labeling this as "beta"
but I don't see why it can't be "final". This release is to bring up
Lucene.Net closer to it's Java code base of 1.9.1 release -- we can now
start working on the 2.0 release.

Here is a list of changes between Lucene.Net 1.9 "final" and Lucene.Net
1.9.1 "beta":
    - Release:  Lucene.Net.1.9.1 build 001
    - Port: Lucene.Net.Documents.TimeToString() -- re-based with the Java
version
    - Port: Lucene.Net.Index.IndexWriter.SetMaxBufferedDocs() -- re-based
with the Java version
    - Port: Lucene.Net.Store.BufferedIndexOutput.WriteBytes() -- re-based
with the Java version
    - Port: Lucene.Net.Store.RAMOutputStream.FlushBuffer() -- re-based with
the Java version
    - Port: Lucene.Net.Demo.* -- re-based with the Java version
    - Port: Test.Lucene.Net.Index.TestCompoundFile.TestLargeWrites() -- new
test case added
    - Port: Test.Lucene.Net.StoreTest.Test() -- re-based with the Java
version

I have looked at the changes, in the Java version, between 1.9.1 and 2.0.
The changes aren't that great and most of them are in the area of remove of
depreciated methods. So, I don't expect the 2.0 to take long.

You can grab the source for 1.9.1 off SVN or get a ZIP of the source from
the download site: http://incubator.apache.org/lucene.net/download/

Best regards,
