Subject Failed build CVS HEAD in Cygwin
Date Fri, 27 May 2005 21:31:14 GMT
New to Cygwin. Following are my build environment
Get log4cxx from CVS HEAD,
Cygwin 1.5.16-1
autoconf 2.59
automake 1.9.2

Tried two ways described in INSTALL
1.
run: autogen.sh
-----------------------------
$ autogen.sh
./autogen.sh: 5: Syntax error: word unexpected (expecting ")").
-----------------------------

Modified the autogen.sh to make it work. Then following problems

appeared

----------------------------
/usr/share/aclocal/libsmi.m4:8: warning: underquoted definition
of M_PATH_LIBSMI
run info '(automake)Extending aclocal'
or see http://sources.redhat.com/automake/automake.html#
Extending-aclocal
/usr/share/aclocal/libmcrypt.m4:17: warning: underquoted
definition of
AM_PATH_LIBMCRYPT
/usr/share/aclocal/libgcrypt.m4:23: warning: underquoted definition of

AM_PATH_LIBGCRYPT
/usr/share/aclocal/freetype2.m4:7: warning: underquoted definition of

AC_CHECK_FT2
/usr/share/aclocal/cppunit.m4:4: warning: underquoted definition of

AM_PATH_CPPUNIT
autoheader: error: AC_CONFIG_HEADERS not found in configure.in
-----------------------------

no makefile.in inside the directory.

2. Then i tried to build with ant
following is command line
----------------------------
ant -Dos.family=cygwin build
------------------------------
it initially worked fine util it reached the point of building apr-util

-----------------------------------------
build:
    [mkdir] Created dir: U:\logging-log4cxx\build\debug\static\aprutil_obj
[cc] 42 total files to be compiled.
       [cc] U:/logging-log4cxx/lib/apr-util-1.1.0/xlate/xlate.c:17:24:

       [cc] U:/logging-log4cxx/lib/apr-util-1.1.0/xlate/xlate.c:61: error:

................................

Struggled and failed. Did anyone build log4cxx successfully lately from
the HEAD? I really need your help.

Thanks,

Frank
