I ran into this as well.  I don't think the configure script or the
code is set up to work properly with gcc 2.95.3.  Most of these errors
come from code that has to do with unicode support, which I don't need
for my particular application, so I just commented out the offending
stuff in tchar.h.  Let me know if you are able to find a less horrible
solution, though.
