Continuously relitigating rules like this is tiresome.

In the longish thread from 2010, you made a specific proposal:

Nobody objected at the time.  The language was perfectly clear, too.

Six months later, there was a "clarification" which actually changed the rule.

+1 to revert to the rule that you built consensus for.
