I think DeviceMap will want to control its device data, so using
external data sets on which we have no control is probably not the
best option. Supporting various data sets, however, might be
interesting to allow comparisons, as some data sets might be more
suitable to certain types of applications.

I would also encourage people who manage their own data set, as you
seem to be doing, in joining forces with DeviceMap on test suites for
those data sets. Sharing (anonymized) lists of user-agent values that
people see on their websites in different markets, for example, can be
very useful in testing.

Ok - various strategies for matching devices to their data are
definitely in scope for DeviceMap, so if you want to join the
devicemap developers list once it's announced (here, once the podling
is voted in) to discuss this in more detail you're very welcome!
