Perhaps the Maven ML *ought* to be carpet bombed, since no other clue-by-four has worked with
them to fix the project.

The Maven repository is really a trojan horse of the worst sort.  You never know what you're
going to find when you look inside, and there is no checking to make sure that anything is
authentic.  They've at least finally talked about a future solution, but will that come before
or after some metaphoric Troy gets nailed?
