Sebb commented on COMDEV-144:
-----------------------------

Thanks, I did not know that script existed.

If they can share the data and script, so much the better.

However the format used by reporter currently is very different:

projects:

{
"chair": "antelder",
"established": "2008-11",
"group": "abdera",
"homepage": "http://abdera.apache.org/",
"id": "abdera",
"name": "Apache Abdera",
"rdf": "https://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/comdev/projects.apache.org/data/committees/abdera.rdf",
"reporting": 2,
"shortdesc": "Atom Publishing Protocol Implementation"
},

reporter:

 "abdera": [
  "February",
  "May",
  "August",
  "November"
 ],

However it should be fairly easy to convert reporter to use the people data file format.
And it might be useful to include some additional data in the reporter summary such as shortdesc
and rdf.

But first I think it would be useful to deduplicate the projects json data files; I'll raise
a separate JIRA for that.

> The file site/reportingcycles.json [1] gives details of the standard reporting cycles,
presumably extracted from committee-info.txt ("CI") [2].
> The CI file is not accessible by the reporter application currently, but I assume there
must be a script somewhere that was used to create the original file as the contents were
a single line! It has now been indented and sorted it to make it easier to update, but it
would be useful still to have a copy of whatever script was used.
> If the reporter tool gets access [3] to the CI file, then it would be worth considering
whether the data should include PMCs in the "Next month" schedule as well as the regular quarterly
entries.
