Subject [jira] [Commented] (COMDEV-119) Zeppelin GSoC Project: add more D3 visualization
Date Thu, 19 Mar 2015 09:51:39 GMT

CORNEAU Damien commented on COMDEV-119:

Zeppelin has what we call notebooks, and notebooks are made of 'paragraph'.
Each Paragraph has its own run button, and it will refresh the table/graph of that paragraph.

Currently each paragraph can only have one query and one table/graph.

The types of charts are hard coded, and until now, we created a data transformation function
and new button for each new graph we wanted to introduce to zeppelin.
All the charts are also using the settings options (pivot), although some like buble/scatter
chart has different pivot fields.

> Zeppelin frontend web application already have rich visualization library based on D3.
> The goal of this Google Summer of Code project is to add more visualizations from the
wide range of existing ones in D3.
> This might be a good opportunity for a students, interested in data visualization to
learn industry standard tools.
> Stunents are welcome to reach out Zeppelin community via its developers mailing list
