Alexandro Colorado commented on COMDEV-83:

Hello, we are still on the process to review and approve mentorship status and some of these
projects could suffer modifications or sustitions. That said, I am glad to see you are interested
in the project.
Even if this project is to extend OpenOffice IDE's to embrace Python and Java, the IDE itself
is majorly coded in C++.
The goal of the project is for users to be able to produce code within the OpenOffice suite.
So we are looking into two different scenarios.
a) Extend the current Basic IDE to process Python and Java as well as basic.
b) Develop an separate IDE for Python and Java builted in OpenOffice.

Here is further information on the functuality regarding macro development:,_Creating_and_Managing_Macros

> OpenOffice native Basic IDE could be able to work with Python and Java natively.
> This will require some binding from the IDE module in OpenOffice to be able to process
the Python and Basic language.
> Participant most know C++, some Python or Java.
