IF gnutar cant handle it, it would seem dangerous to fix it in our system, as
end users probably wouldnt be able to read the file.

If there is a fix. It may be 2GB is all you can get in tar.

Leaving open, downgrading to 'normal'. At the very least, we should detect
oversize files and warn on them. 

this'll be a fun little test case :)
