DefaultCompilerAdapter contains breaking changes

           Summary: DefaultCompilerAdapter contains breaking changes
           Product: Ant
           Version: 1.5Beta1
          Platform: All
        OS/Version: All
            Status: NEW
          Severity: Normal
          Priority: Other
         Component: Core tasks
        AssignedTo: ant-dev@jakarta.apache.org
        ReportedBy: rodrigo_peretti@oti.com

In Ant 1.5 beta1 the DefaultCompilerAdapter removes the protected method
addExtdirsToClasspath(). Subclasses created and compiled against Ant 1.4.1 are
now broken. The suggestion is to deprecate the method and redirect to the new
implementation in Path in order to maintain compatibility with Ant 1.4.1.
Removing a public/protected method of a public class is a very sensitive
change.
