which is one of the reasons I don't think crimson should be packaged with
ant (and use of the ext dir should be universally banned). Crimson could be
included in download but it would be better if user was forced to manually
copy jars to correct location etc.

Your fix does not alter the problem that the same library is included twice
in classpath. It just makes the problem harder to track down. I have seen
subtle bugs caused by things like this and thus can't see how it is any
better than current situation ;)
