Some time ago, I was thinking on having some sort of <start> or <spawn>
task, similar to <exec> but that executes in a completely independent
process.

For UNIX, that is equivalent to use "/bin/sh -c '.......... &'" while for
WinXX is is equivalent to use "start .....".

Do not know for other OSs, though.
